This is the online community for Plot Lab, where a headline, a strange little news story, or a deliciously weird overheard conversation can become the spark for a story. This is a space for readers, writers, aspiring writers, and anyone who has ever heard a headline and thought, Wait... what if? 

Each episode page below includes all three prompts from the show. Pick the one that makes your brain start buzzing, then add your story to the comments. It can be a paragraph, a scene, a character idea, a plot twist, or the beginning of something you don’t quite know how to finish yet.

And don’t just post and disappear. Read what other writers are creating. Like their stories. Leave a comment. Tell someone what grabbed you. Writers need encouragement, and sometimes one little “I love where you’re going with this” is enough to keep an idea alive.
